Tiny Kids Club 6-8
Adult Surf Club
We offer Clubs and Courses for all Ages
N E Surf offers courses for all ages. We find that surfing with others of a similar age and experience level really maximises fun and progression. This is why we encourage those wanting to continue to progress to join one of our clubs.
We have a variety of weekly clubs aimed at different ages and abilities. Our kids club and tiny kids club run daily throughout the school holidays.
Clubs & Courses
Tiny kids club 6 – 8
Suitable for complete beginners. This lesson is a perfect way for little ones to start surfing and build confidence in the water. We drop the usual lesson ratio to 1 instructor to 5 surfers to ensure the little ones are well supervised.
Kids club 8 – 16
Kids club is aimed at kids who want to progress their surfing or continue to have loads of fun in the water. They must have had at least one beginner lesson with us previously. If they have had sessions with other surf schools before then please call or text us to check suitability. Kids club runs daily through the school holidays and we also have weekly clubs for regulars – if you would like to join one of our weekly clubs please send us a text or email.
Adult Surf Club
Adult surf club is a weekly lesson aimed at adults who want to continue to improve their surf skills and have fun in a supportive group of likeminded people. Surf club is targeted at improver and intermediate surfers who are aiming to progress from white to green waves or improve their technique, style and manoeuvres. For beginners we have an intro session running alongside the club session. If you would like to join a weekly group please message us directly.
What to expect and what you will need to take part
Location – Bamburgh Beach (unless, due to conditions, we contact you to say otherwise).
- Duration – 2 hours from meet time to lesson finishing. Allow a further 10 minutes to change at the end.
- What to bring – all equipment is provided. We have quality wetsuits in a wide range of sizes and boots, gloves and hoods available in the colder months. If you would like to wear your own wetsuit, that’s fine, but we recommend a good quality (5.4mm), which is what we use most of the time for the conditions in Northumberland. So if yours is thinner, consider using one of ours.
- What the lesson entails – all of our lessons include a warm up and safety brief of the days conditions. Our beginner and improver lessons break all the stages of surfing down into manageable chunks, including both beach theory and lots of practice in the water. Intermediate and advanced lessons are tailored to the goals and needs of the surfers. They include both beach theory and always lots of time in the water. Whatever the session, you’ll come out feeling like you’ve really earned that hot drink and Bamburgh Banger butty (or whatever else might be on the menu!).

Structured Coaching
At NE surf the quality of our lessons is of paramount importance to us. We believe that structured coaching leads to better surfing, so we group our lessons on ability to ensure that everyone receives appropriate and tailored instruction.
If you aren’t sure of your level, please give us a call or a text before booking and our experienced instructors can guide you towards the right one for you.
We operate our group lessons at a maximum ratio of 1 instructor to 6 surfers, lower than the industry standard. We do this to ensure that our lessons are safe and the coaching effective.
